Col Amitabh Amit (Retd), Founder & President, WE CARE.

Col Amitabh Amit (Retd) is an alumni of National Defense Academy (NDA) Khadakwasla and Indian Military Academy (IMA) Dehradun. A graduate from Defense Services Staff College, Wellington, he held important staff and instructional  appointments to include Instructor in Indian Military Academy Dehradun, Brigade Major of an Infantry Brigade in “Op RHINO”, AMS, HQ ARTRAC and Western Command, Col (MS) HQ 12 Corps and SO to MS.

An enthusiastic first generation army officer, he was commissioned in 17th Battalion of the Maratha Light Infantry (MARATHA LI) in December 1982. In his initial stint with the battalion, he participated in the operations of Indian Peace Keeping Force (IPKF) in Sri Lanka. He commanded 4th Battalion the Maratha Light Infantry (MARATHA LI) in Uri during ‘Op PARAKRAM’ on an active Line of Control.

His services were recognized with the award of COAS Commendation and GOC in C Commendation on two occasions.

Col Amitabh Amit (Retd) took premature retirement from Army in 2008. After a brief exposure with the corporate world where he was heading North India for his company, the entrepreneurship bug bit him and he entered the “Security Business” in December 2009.He now owns“Citadel Security & Management Services” with its offices in Delhi, Noida, Faridabad and Secunderabad.

Social service has been his calling since an early age. As a 17 year old, Banaras Hindu University (BHU) student before joining NDA, he mobilized a group of students to provide relief to flood victims in the worst floods of the last century in 1978. His baby steps then, ultimately resulted in the formation of his own NGO – WE CARE.
